It's weird that discourse has stopped sending notifications. I will look into it ASAP.
Our requirement can be described as follows(please do rephrase, I am not so good at explaining stuff. )
For our development, testing, and staging purposes, we need to purchase more resources. This will include purchasing a couple of VPS with good enough RAM and decent storage. Currently how we are going ahead with the development process is by using a single machine with a couple of docker containers running serving the purpose of multiple isolated systems. This setup proves to be extremely slow and not so developer friendly. Also, currently our mailing list, website, and even out IRC bot is hosted on free Amazon EC2 instances and a hosting space so generously lent to us by another open source organization(This organization is SMC ( http://smc.org.in/ ), btw.). We need to purchase the minimal infrastructure necessary for the development and other community collaborative purposes.
As for the cost, this is my estimate:
A decent VPS with 4GB RAM, and 3TB transfer would cost us $ 40/mo. So assuming that we plan on buying at least 3 of them(including hosting space for mailing list, etc.), we would need $120 a month, adding up to $1440 a year. This is just a rough estimate. This can increase or decrease depending on the usage of the resources.
I heard that Hrishi's grand mother is hospitalized and her condition is a bit serious. I doubt if Hrishi can get back with this data any soon. Let me call up a couple of friends and see how much would it come upto.
